Pro Loco, on 31st January in conjunction with the 'Giorni della Merla' (days that, as tradition tells, are the most cold of the winter), gives to you the chance to participate to an event, coming from the agricultural world, which is an ancient local tradition.
In fact in this evening the town salute the winter and children go around the village dragging tins of various kind, from the cans to the paintpots. There's no limit to your imagination: the aim is to make more noise possible. It's the funniest way to express the joy of the end of the coldest period of winter.
These long rows of tins ('toli' in the local dialect) are dragged shouting the traditional phrase in dialect 'L'è fò ginée, l'è int febbrèe le fò l'urs da la tana', that wants awake the bear and let him know that the winter is almost finished.
Each kid will receive a proper card that must be stamped in 5 predetermined points where the kids will be compelled to pass.
Who shows the card completed by all the 5 stamps will win a pizza in the local pizzerias: it will be also a chance to spend some good times together.
The participants will find at each stop-point hot chocolate, tea and mulled wine offered bu Pro Loco.
Don't hesitate... we wait for you at Tirano, on 31st January at 20.00. |
