Paradise for skiers. From any locality of the so-called “Terziere Superiore” you can reach all the tracks of Valtellina with just
short transfers: Livigno, Bormio, Santa Caterina, Valdidentro, Madesimo, Chiesa Valmalenco, Caspoggio, Valgerola and in
summer the Stelvio glacier, last but not least the locality of St. Moritz in the neighbour Switzerland.
There is one skiing resort in the “Terziere Superiore”:
SKIAREA APRICA
Aprica where skiing is on the doorstep. This is the slogan which is often used to describe the main characteristics of wintertime in Aprica .
And it is just therefore. Aprica is one of the few skiing localities in which the ski areas and the slopes are so close to the village and
make people able to come back to the hotels and houses with skis on foot. The moderate altitude and the nice sun exposition makes the climate
bearable even in the more rigid days. For Nordic skiing fans the nearby Trivigno and Pian Gembro runs offer an ideal surrounding to enjoy in a
natural and uncontaminated environment such as the Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi. With the opening of the Baradello 2000 Aprica
has further widened its skiing area.
